The music of Van Hai is a journey into the heart of emotions. Sometimes gestural and physical, sometimes intellectual and psychological, it resulting from feelings and ask to be shared.
Influenced by electronic music as well as by the classic, rock or jazz, the music of Van Hai is unique and unusual. It allows to him to mix the Asian kitsch, a latin sense of tragedy and a Swiss precision like anyone. The result of all his experiments defies labeling and always have for main ambition, to make sense.
Van Hai portrays his close entourage, illustrate the crucial events of his life and tries to describe the most difficult emotions. All these themes dear to artistic expression but terribly far from the concerns of contemporary music. In this and other reasons, the work of Van Hai is a constant search, a music essay.
In early 2007, he released "Sentiments ep" on Time has changed records then signed "Ego ep" including "Faith" and "Horwill Demeter" on Perspectiv records, and become charted and played everywhere, from Europe to Latin America via the USA and Asia. The sound of Van Hai begins to be diffused and other labels solicit him, as Meerestief records, Natura Sonoris and recently Petit Monstre. It resulting three ep to be released between late 2008 to early 2009.
Van Hai is also working on a project with David Durango (Poker Flat) which will come normally in early 2009 on Factor City.
In 2009, he will also release his first album.
